Wines

Wines Wine is a glorious drink which is essentially made from the naturally fermented juice of fresh fruit or berries. The grape is obviously the most common ingredient. Wine can be a source of great enjoyment and nourishment. Ideally it should be consumed in moderation as part of a healthy diet.

The storage of wine is quite important as this will affect its condition and longevity. Wine should be kept in a clean, dark, damp place with good ventilation, and at a constant temperature (40-65°F or 5-18°C). Wines still age in the bottle and they will age faster when stored in higher temperatures as opposed to cooler ones. Light will prematurely age a bottle of wine and sparkling wines are especially sensitive to light. Ordinary wines should be stored horizontally so that the wine stays in contact with the cork. This keeps the cork moist thereby preventing air from entering the wine.

Wines There is a plethora of good quality wines from a wide range of countries. Wines are influenced by so many different factors: the type of grape; the vineyard's soil; the climate; production techniques; and the actual wine makers.
